Day 1. Central Coast– Tamworth                                                 (LD)

Departing the Coast this morning we travel north through Branxton to  Singleton  for morning tea.  We then continue to the horse capital of Australia, Scone for lunch before our journey takes us through Murrurundi to Tamworth, for our overnight stay.  City Sider Motor Inn

  

Day 2. Tamworth—Toowoomba                                             (BLD)

A pleasant travelling day along the New England Highway, visiting the townships of Armidale and Glen Innes. Lunch today will be at the old  Wallangarra Railway Museum Café. Wallangarra is the town on the border of NSW and QLD.  After our visit and lunch we re board our coach for travel to Toowoomba for our four (4) nights accommodation.  City Golf Club Motel

 

 Day 3. Local Guide and Grand Parade                                 (BD)

This morning our local guide will take us on a tour including some of the prize winning gardens. Visit Laurel Bank Park and Queens Park Gardens. Today is Carnival Parade Day.  Your coach captain will drop you as close as he can to our pre-organised seating, to view the many faces of the carnival. 

 

 Day 4.  Spring is Here                                                             (BD)

Today we discover the garden city of Toowoomba. Visit Spring Bluff  Railway Station at Murphy’s Creek, a short  drive north of Toowoomba and is one of the favourite places to visit during the carnival.  Apart from the beautiful gardens, you can explore the railway station, which began  construction in 1864. Visit Brindabella Country Gardens and be amazed by the magnificent blaze of colours in these areas. Visit Black Forest Hill and see the amazing display of cuckoo clocks, wall clocks and the old favourite, the Grandfather clock. Making our way back into Toowoomba, it’s time to visit more  gardens. The Toowoomba City Council spend around a $1.5 million on its’ gardens each year and Toowoomba has over 150 public parks scattered throughout the streets and has  deserved its reputation as the Garden City.

 

Day 5.  Local Sights of Toowoomba                                 (BD)

This morning we visit the world-class Cobb + Co Museum, part of the Queensland Museum Network and home to the National Carriage Collection. Wander through the charming collection and discover how the 47 horse-drawn vehicles played an important role in the development of Queensland.  This afternoon enjoy a scenic drive through the Darling Downs. 

 

Day 6.  Toowoomba—Hope Island   “Outback Spectacular”              (BD)

Farewell to Toowoomba this morning and start our journey down to the Gold Coast.  Travelling through picturesque countryside to Mount Tamborine.  Take a walk among the tree tops at the Mt. Tamborine Skywalk for magnificent views across the valley.  A short distance away is Hope Island and our accommodation for tonight.  Time to relax before our evening out at the Outback Spectacular “Salute to the Light Horse”  Dinner & Show.

Day 7.  Gold Coast—Grafton                                      (BD)

Today we cross the border back into New South Wales, travelling the Pacific Highway.  Visit Byron Bay, Lennox Head and Ballina along the way.   Travel beside fields of sugarcane and sugar mills to arrive at our destination.

Day 8.  Grafton—Home                 (B)

Homeward bound today, travelling  through Coffs Harbour, stopping at Nambucca Heads for morning tea and Taree for lunch.  Arriving on the Central Coast you will be returned home.
