Day 1.  Central Coast  - Cooma      (D)

Central Coast & Newcastle passengers home pick-up by our mini bus.  Once on board the coach, travel south to join the new M7 Freeway, linking up with the Hume Freeway.  Luncheon stop will be the historic city of Goulburn before continuing to Cooma  for the night.

Day 2.  Bairnsdale                             (BD)

Travel through Nimmitabel, joining the Monaro Highway into Bombala, renowned for its rich trout fishing.  Crossing the Victoria border we travel into Orbost, situated on the banks of the Snowy River and surrounded by  spectacular coastal and mountain scenery.  Continue into Lakes Entrance on the eastern end of the Gippsland Lakes, the largest inland network of waterways in Australia.  A short distance away is Bairnsdale for our overnight stay.

Day  3.  Phillip Island                 (BD)

Join the Gippsland Highway & follow the coast to Yarram, the oldest established south Gippsland township.  Continue on through Welshpool and Foster, travelling through some very scenic countryside.  This afternoon we continue to Phillip  Island via Wonthaggi.

Tonight we will view the Little Penguins as they make their way to shore for the night.  It may be cold so please pack a jacket. 

 

Day 4.  French Island            (BLD)      

This morning we board the “Kasey Lee” for a relaxing cruise across the bay to French Island.  Victoria’s largest island occupied by only 70 residents.  We will join a local coach and be   guided around the island viewing the prison & farm, see koalas in the wild and hear the stories of the islanders and Victoria’s last pioneers.  This afternoon we visit the National Vietnam Veterans Museum and The Nobbies for  spectacular views across the bay.

 

Day 5.  Melbourne       (BD)

Departing Phillip Island this morning, we make our way into the Dandenong Ranges.  Here amongst the ferny glades in the Dandenongs is William Ricketts Sanctuary, a place of beauty and  tranquillity, due both to the natural setting and the mystical sculptures half hidden among ferns along the pathways.  We take time out to enjoy the Sanctuary before continuing our journey into Melbourne for our three (3) night stay.

Day 6.  Discover Melbourne     (BLD)

Today we discover the city of  Melbourne from all angles, enjoying a cruise along the Yarra through the parks, gardens, docks and port of Melbourne. Tour the infamous M.C.G., scene of many sporting triumphs and visit Victoria’s famous markets and soak up the city atmosphere.  This evening we explore the city by night, with a five course dinner on board the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant.

 

Day 7. International Flower Show      (B)

Today is set aside for you to enjoy at your own pace the International Flower and Garden show. This 23rd annual show is hosted in the exquisite heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens. The show features the best landscape and floral talent that  Australia has to offer, alongside an extensive array of garden retail product. The Show is a celebration of Australian lifestyle and our great  outdoors. The Show is also open this evening, if you wish to view it in a     different light. Dinner at your own  expense.

 

Day 8.  Melbourne—Yass     (BLD)

Departing Melbourne this morning, we travel via Seymour and Euroa to  Glenrowan before crossing the border once again.  Travel to Yass for overnight.

Day 9.  Yass—Home        (B)
