Day 1: Friday 15th September 2017

Home pick-up and transfer to Sydney International Airport for your Emirates flight to Stockholm via Dubai.

Flight takes approximately 23 hours.


Day 2. Saturday 16th September 2017

Stockholm, Sweden Your tour opens in captivating Stockholm, a perfect blend of old and new. Gather this evening with your fellow  travellers for a welcome dinner in the old town at Fem Sma Hus. This stunning restaurant is comprised of five connected timber-framed houses from the 17th century and captures the flavour of a bygone era.           (D)


Day 3: Sunday 17th September 2017

Stockholm  This morning it’s your choice! You may choose to embark on a tour of Stockholm’s city sights, showcasing the city’s greatest vistas and fascinating attractions including the  Riddarholm Church, the Royal Palace and the Parliament, concluding with a visit to Stockholm’s City Hall. Or, perhaps you would prefer to explore the narrow streets of Gamla Stan (Old Town) during a guided walking tour with a stop at one of Sweden’s sweetest traditions, a candy cane-making factory, for a demonstration. Later, we make a stop at the one-of- a-kind Vasa Ship Museum to learn about its shocking maiden voyage, when it sank in one nautical mile. This ship, commissioned in the 1600s by King Vasa, was raised 334 years later from the bottom of the harbour.    Perfectly preserved, it offers a rare glimpse into the   amazing craftsmanship of the 17th century. Your afternoon is a tleisure to explore Stockholm independently.            (B)


Day 4: Monday 18th September 2017

Stockholm-Copenhagen, Denmark

Take a morning flight to delightful Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. Later, join a local expert on an engaging city tour. View Denmark’s centre of Parliament, known as Christianborg; Amalienborg Palace, the residence of the Danish royal   family; and the Royal Theatre. See the Little Mermaid Statue, a 1913 sculpture honouring Hans    Christian Andersen’s famous fictional character.             (B)


Day 5: Tuesday 19th September 2017

Copenhagen   Step away from the city with a visit to stunning  Frederiksborg Castle. First stop in the small seaside town of Niva and enjoy a locally inspired, farm-to-table lunch at one of Denmark's most renowned restaurants. Then visit the castle. Built in the 1600s as the royal residence for King Christian IV, today it is home to Denmark's National History Museum. Take time to explore the opulent interiors and expansive gardens.     (BL)


Day 6. Wednesday 20th September 2017

Copenhagen - Oslo, Norway Fly to Norway, a land of   intense natural beauty and famous for its deep fjords, steep mountain roads, Viking legends and well-preserved historical sites. Upon arrival, your tour of regal Oslo features the remarkable Viking Ship Museum, Karl Johan Street, a view of the Royal Palace, City Hall and the new Opera building. Then it’s on to Vigeland Park where you will find the collection of statues and sculptures that  comprise Gustav Vigeland's life’s work.                           (B)


Day 7: Thursday 21st September 2017

Oslo - Myrdal - Flåm Railway - Gudvangen - Voss 

Today you embark on the legendary “Norway in a Nutshell” tour! All aboard the Bergen Railway to experience Europe’s most scenic rail journey. Have your camera ready as this legendary tour takes you through    Norway’s most breathtaking fjord and mountainous terrain on its way to Bergen. Switch trains in Myrdal and travel 12 miles on the famous Flåm Railway, a masterpiece of  engineering, taking you 2,800 breathtaking feet in 55 minutes to the village of Flåm on Sognefjord, Norway's longest (120 miles) and deepest (more than a mile). Next, cruise Nærøyfjord (UNESCO), the narrowest fjord in   Europe with stunning views of waterfalls and small farms clinging to the steep mountainsides. In Gudvangen, your journey continues by bus to a remote mountain resort. Spend the night surrounded by one of Norway’s greatest products – natural landscapes.                                                          (BD)


Day 8: Friday 22nd September 2017

Voss -  Bergen - Norwegian Coastal Voyage - Board Ship This morning journey to Bergen, one of Norway’s oldest and most iconic cities. Join your fellow travellers on a     leisurely paced walking tour of Bergen. Explore the picturesque, old Bryggen Wharf (UNESCO) with its tiny wooden houses and narrow streets. Mingle with the locals at the fish market, located in the "heart" of the city. Then    prepare for your memorable 6-night cruise–the “World’s Most Beautiful Voyage”–sailing along the stunning Norwegian coastline. This evening board your Hurtigruten ship. Sit back and take in the treasure trove of landscapes, scenery, sights and sounds that surround you.                (BD)


Day 9: Saturday 23rd September 2017

Norwegian Coastal Voyage - Northbound  This morning’s view from the ship will be of either the  tranquil Stadthavet Sea or the majestic Geirangerfjord as we make our way to the charming village of Alesund. Take a stroll through the fairy-tale streets of Alesund, a vibrant town known for its colourful art nouveau architecture and its stunning setting at the entrance of the Geirangerfjord. Then it’s on to Molde for a brief stop at this trading and cultural hub dating back to medieval times.                              (BLD)


Day 10: Sunday 24th September 2017

Norwegian Coastal Voyage - Northbound

Today, enjoy some time in the historic city of Trondheim. Founded by Viking King Olav in A.D. 997, it was the location of the first capital of Norway and is still the city where new kings receive their ceremonial blessings. Later, continue towards the Land of the Midnight Sun, passing rugged coastlines en route to Rorvik which sits among 6,000 islands.               (BLD)


Day 11: Monday 25th September 2017

Norwegian Coastal Voyage - Northbound

Today you become one of a select few as our cruise ship crosses the Arctic Circle on our way to Bodo. Gaze at the distant rugged peaks and to the infinite sky…keep an eye out for white-tailed sea eagles found in this region. Continue sailing, crossing the stunning Vestfjord and past the breathtaking Lofoten Islands before pausing briefly at the villages of Stamsund and Svolvaer. Later, sail on past the majestic Trollfjord.                                                       (BLD)


Day 12: Tuesday 26th September 2017

Norwegian Coastal Voyage - Northbound

Take in the serenity as we sail past a chain of islands on our way to the small town of Harstad. Stop here for a moment before continuing on to Tromso, capital of the Arctic. Find yourself immersed in beautiful fjords and mountains. Located 220 miles north of the Arctic Circle, Tromso is home to the world's northernmost university, botanical garden and cathedral.                                                    (BLD)


Day 13: Wednesday 27th September 2017

Norwegian Coastal Voyage - Northbound

Your voyage continues along Norway’s northernmost     region, pausing briefly along the way at sleepy villages and busy ports  surrounded by breathtaking panoramas. Have some time in the peaceful town of Honningsvag, the capital of North Cape, situated closer to the North Pole than it is to Oslo.                         (BLD)


Day 14: Thursday 28th September 2017

Norwegian Coastal Voyage - Kirkenes - Disembark Ship - Oslo

Early this morning we arrive in Kirkenes, home to the Sami people who have herded reindeer for centuries. Disembark your ship and fly back to Oslo. Gather this evening for a farewell dinner celebrating the end of our first 14 days, filled with the breathtaking scenery and cultural treasures of Scandinavia.                                (BD)


Day 15: Friday 29th September 2017

Oslo - Fly to Reykjavik, Iceland  We continue on our  personalised holiday. Discover Iceland, a land and culture forged by fire and ice.   Steaming lava fields reflect a volcanic nature. Massive glaciers sculpt mountains and valleys, leaving thundering waterfalls and breathtaking landscapes. Have free time to explore the city’s old section that features Hallgrimskirkja church, City Hall, the harbour, and Reykjavik’s oldest  building, home of the Kraum Icelandic design centre.   (B)


Day 16: Saturday 30th September 2017

Reykjavik - Golden Circle - Reykjavik  Travel the incredible Golden Circle, a route that encompasses many of Iceland's most renowned natural wonders. Marvel at the beauty of the Gullfoss (Golden Falls) waterfall, a stunning 100-foot double cascade. Journey to Thingvellir National Park, the nation’s most historic area. Here, Icelanders gathered in A.D. 930 and established what is considered to be one of the world’s first parliaments. Find yourself standing upon one of the globe’s most geologically significant landscapes, Thingvellir’s rugged rift valley, a UNESCO World      Heritage site that marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the point where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet.  Return to Reykjavik and have time to explore the city on your own.       (B)


Day 16: Sunday 1st October 2017

Reykjavik  Enjoy a day at leisure. Perhaps you will choose to relax on a scenic whale watching cruise; venture out on a horseback riding excursion; or travel out to the Reykjanes peninsula to spend quality time relaxing in the geo-thermal waters of the famed Blue Lagoon.          (B)


Day 17: Monday 2nd October 2017

Reykjavik - Tour Ends  We transfer to Reykjavik Airport to board our flight for our journey home.  Our flight will take us via London and    Dubai.           (B)


Day 18: Tuesday 3rd October 2017

Arrive Sydney and transfer home.

Please note: $250.00 of your deposits is refundable up  until March 16, 2017, after that date certain charges apply.

Single accommodations are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis.

 Triple accommodations are not available on this tour.

Luggage handling to and from the ship is not available.


Hurtigruten’s ships are working vessels operating a regular service to a set timetable. The ships carry goods, vehicles and passengers between ports, by night and day, as an    integral part of Norwegian daily life. The ships are calling at ports around the clock.


Cabin choices are inside or outside.  Cabins are assigned by Hurtigruten; stateroom numbers will be supplied upon arrival at the ship in Bergen, Norway.


It is not  common practice to tip on Hurtigruten ships on the coastal voyage; however, if you feel that crew members should be rewarded for providing exceptional service, tip boxes are placed in the restaurant together with envelopes.


It is recommended that you wear good sturdy, non-slip footwear and warm clothing including thermals, hat, scarf and gloves. You should also bring a flashlight which is helpful in the dark and when operating your camera at night. Using a tripod is recommended for taking the best photos.


This tour requires average physical activity. You should be in good health, able to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances, possibly over uneven grounds and cobblestone streets.


Please be advised many airlines do not provide  advance seat assignments until  check-in at the airport. Advance seating will be subject to the airline's terms and          conditions.


Travel on Day 6 is a combination of rail, bus and ferry. Train departs Oslo at 8:00 a.m. and arrives in Bergen at approximately 8:30 p.m. It is recommended that you    purchase snacks and drinks the day prior. A café on the train is available during your trip from Oslo to Myrdal and also during your stop in Flåm. On this day, luggage will be taken separately from Oslo and delivered directly to the hotel in Bergen.



Please note: the advertised tour price includes return airfare from Sydney, all internal flights and our  Iceland extension. A current Passport with at least 6 months validity is required.
