Norfolk Island

Day 1.    Friday 24th March         (D)

Depart Sydney 9:30am on Air New Zealand  NZ762 arriving on Norfolk Island at 12:40pm. Lunch on board.

On arrival you will need to collect your checked luggage, then clear   customs and immigration. Once in the main  terminal you will be met by our local ground operator and transferred to The Castaway which will be your home for the next 7 nights, centrally located in the township of Burnt Pine.  It is within walking distance to the town centre and restaurants, plus only minutes drive to the beach and historic Kingston ruins. The comfortable rooms have mountain and valley views and offer all the creature comforts that will make your stay one to remember.  Enjoy a welcome tropical fruit cocktail on arrival before checking into your rooms.

Dinner this evening will be at the      Paradise Restaurant.


Day 2. Saturday 25th March  (BD)

PM    Half Day Orientation Tour - Ghost Tour Dinner

Half Day Orientation Tour is a must for every visitor. Visit historic Kingston, Cascade, Longridge and much more. See and hear about the famous convict buildings, beautiful beaches and golf course, the renowned Melanesian  Chapel, local Government laws and lifestyle. Enjoy views from scenic spots on this full commentary conducted tour. Rest for a delicious afternoon tea in the      garden of a historic island home built by Fletcher Quintal – descendant of ‘Bounty’ mutineers Fletcher Christian and Matthew  Quintal. 

Lunch today is own arrangements.   Tonight we will make our way to historic Kingston for dinner and a    lantern walk through the ruins.   Listen to tales and stories that will delight you, make you sad and through it all, send shivers down your spine.  BYO drinks.


Day 3. Sunday 26th March      (BD)

Free morning followed by the   Convict Settlement Tour -   Murder Mystery Dinner

Transfers are available for those wishing to attend church this  morning.

Convict Settlement Tour is an ‘In Depth’ tour of the historic  Georgian Settlement of Kingston. Walk through the cemetery and hear the history of interesting convict and colonial headstones, hear stories of the houses along Quality Row. Walk through the ruins of the New Gaol, see the Pier Store, Boat Shed and the Crank Mill. Afternoon Tea included.

This evening at The Castaway we enjoy a 3 course meal fit for the Commandants whilst the mystery unfolds. Meet the Commandant, Clergyman & Convicts of this period - includes true characters from the second settlement.  Solve the  mystery and win a prize.


Day 4. Monday 27th March  (BD)

Cheese Tour & Progressive Dinner

Christian Brothers Cheese Company is a boutique dairy and cheese producer started by two island brothers, Glen and John Christian. This tour will take us through a local farm with beautiful ocean views, meet the milk cows, try the milking machine, see beehives and hear about producing the local honey.  A quick visit to the local sawmill is an added bonus for us today.  The tour then travels to Glen’s house were we sample the range of cheeses with tasty condiments and complementary wine on the verandah with scenic ocean and valley views where cheese maker John will give us an informative talk. 

Time to relax and freshen up before we visit three Norfolk Island families in their homes for a progressive dinner. This is a fun night and a great way to meet the locals.


Day 5. Tuesday 28th March  (BD)

Culla & Co  & Night as a Convict Dinner

This morning we step back in time and enjoy 2.5 hours on a horse drawn cart with Culla.  We will view magnificent coastal scenery at a spot only accessible with Culla. enjoy morning tea under the trees and with a chance to get up close to the magnificent draught horses.

A fun night out for all ages! Dress as a convict and join in with the Commandant for an evening of gaiety, feasting, singing and dancing. Great food! Great fun!

(your outfit will be supplied) Norfolk’s only dinner and dance night – this is the most popular feature.


Day 6. Wednesday 29th March (BD)

Christians Glass Bottom Boat -  Pitcairn Settlers Village & Fletchers Fate Dinner

Donald and John will share their knowledge of Norfolk’s unique marine life.  Once you’ve “walked the plank” with these two mutineer descendants, it takes 60 seconds to be at the reef.  View beautiful coral gardens & tropical fish inside the calm crystal waters of Norfolk’s lagoon.  (weather and tide conditions           permitting).

After lunch we visit the Pitcairn Settlers Village and learn about the colourful history of Norfolk Island’s most recent settlement. The Pitcairner’s and their descendants are one of the last few remaining original settler’s properties. Enjoy afternoon tea and a short film. 

Tonight we have a fascinating evening of interactive theatre, intrigue and mystery. This play examines the possible last movements and final whereabouts of the famous mutineer, Fletcher   Christian, whilst we enjoy a sumptuous 3 course dinner.


Day 7. Thursday 30th March   (BD)

Behind the Hedges Tour -  Island Fish Fry & Sound & Light Show

Travel to Anson Bay to visit a small hobby farm, which has been instrumental in improving the local livestock industry. Close by, see a demonstration at Norfolk’s major pottery and browse at the Cottage Pottery shop. After a delicious morning tea at a scenic location, visit one of the Island’s largest Banyan Trees. Visit ‘Sweeties’ and learn how we make chocolate on Norfolk.

The Island Fish Fry is one of the most enjoyable events on the island.  Transfer to the cliff top and as we watch the sunset and enjoy a feast of island dishes, salads, homemade bread & fresh fried fish, followed by island desserts.  There is entertainment at the Fish Fry, so bring your singing voices with you.  As this is held outside it is a good idea to bring along a jacket. Even in summer there is usually a breeze coming off the ocean. Don’t forget your camera to capture the  sunset.   BYO drinks.

Nightfall at Kingston brings a different mood to the Convict Settlement.  The stillness and the stars are there just as they were before  mankind arrived in 1778. Enjoy the Sound & Light Show.


Day 8.  Friday 31st March          (B)

Fletchers Cyclorama—Home

This morning after breakfast we will head off to Cyclorama, an  unforgettable experience. Walk inside the continuous 360 degree panoramic painting that  traces the history of the Bounty leaving England through Tahiti, Pitcairn  Island and arrival at Norfolk Island in 1856.

Return to our accommodation before being transferred to the airport for our return to Sydney.

Depart on NZ763 arriving Sydney at 4:15pm. Upon arrival into Sydney you will be greeted by our representative and returned to your home on the Central Coast.



Deposit and Payment:

To confirm the tour at the quoted price, a deposit of $500.00 per person is required within 7 days of booking. Should you cancel more than 90 days prior to travel a $200.00 cancellation fee applies.

90 Days prior to travel, the deposit becomes non-refundable and non-transferable. Please make cheques payable to It’s Easy Tours.

Payment in full is required 60 days prior to travel (24 January 2017).

Passport:  You no longer require a passport to travel to Norfolk Island just photo identification
