Day 2.  Sunday 29th October    (BD)

This morning make your way to the Coral Café for a full cooked breakfast.

After breakfast head out with your hosts Janine and Peter Phillips on a fun and informal bus tour of Lord Howe Island’s more interesting nooks and crannies! Janine is a fifth generation Islander - her Great Grandfather was an American whaler, Nathan Chase Thompson who settled on the island in the 1850’s. Peter is the Island’s post master and he has had a number of his photos and stories published as well as writing a book on the Island’s history. You will learn more on a three hour tour than if you spent a week searching things out by yourself.

Lunch today is own arrangements.

This afternoon board the ''MV Lulawai” built on the island for the late Roy Wilson in 1969.

This beautiful vessel was purposely designed for the Island's waters and with a complete rebuild in 2010 she is the perfect vessel to showcase this beautiful island. Relax and enjoy the breath-taking views all around Lord Howe Island including the spectacular image of Balls Pyramid creeping up in the distance and sheer mountain cliffs. During part of the 2 hour cruise you will approach the 'Admiralty Islands' which are home to a large percentage of the Island's bird population. View the Island the way it was discovered, from the sea.

Dinner tonight will be a local fish fry - Beachcomber.

Day 3.  Monday 30th October            (BLD)

This morning make your way to the Coral Café for a full cooked breakfast.

Today join your guide, Anthony Riddle, 6th Generation Islander on the day’s outing to North Bay. View the fish and corals of the world’s most southern barrier reef as you cruise slowly to the beautiful North Bay. Drift over the wreck of the “Favorite” on the purpose built glass bottom boat “Adventure One”. Enjoy the turtle spotting of the Green and Hawks Bill turtles through the glass bottom boat. While at North Bay the adventurous can snorkel the wreck, take a short climb up Mt. Eliza with its panoramic views, walk to the Old Gulch and   Herring Pools, view the sea bird    rookery with a guided bird walk, swim, or just sit and laze the day away. BBQ lunch is included and snorkel gear provided.

Dinner tonight will be a 3 course dinner at Milky Way.

Day 4. Tuesday 31st October    (BD)

Breakfast at the Coral Café before joining our guide Ron for a 3km    ramble.  This is an environmental  history ramble passing through lovely forests and a Mutton-bird rookery whilst enjoying cliff top views and giant banyans.  See Valley of the  Shadows, Clear Place and Ball Pyramid.  Start from the much  younger land forms where most residents live and into more ancient areas.  Lord Howe is slowly disappearing.  This will be explained and also why its sister islands have long gone. Learn about the palm and tourist industry, flora, bush tucker and medicine.

Dinner tonight will be 2 course at  Pandanus Café.

Day 5. Wednesday 1st  November   (BD)

This morning we enjoy breakfast before boarding our boat for a trip to the southern end of the island for coral viewing.  The rest of the day is at your leisure.  You may like to go fishing, swimming or just relax.

These movies of the island show its’ traditions and way of life.  Dinner will be 2 course at the Coral Café.

After breakfast we will again be met by Ron, who will take us to the mountainous end of the island, for a 1km level stroll to the base of the mountains, little islands and where the lagoon’s reef comes to its southern end.  Rock was obtained here for the building of the airstrip.  Wood hens are often seen and fed here.  After a rest to enjoy the view and a photo or 2, we will then stroll back.  Enjoy a 2 course lunch and a cuppa with our guide at “Humpty Micks”.
