Day 1.  Central Coast - Narrandera      (D)

Central Coast & Newcastle passengers home pick-up by our mini bus.  Once on board the coach, travel south to join the new M7 Freeway, linking up with the Hume Freeway.  Luncheon stop will be the historic city of Goulburn before continuing to Gundagai for a comfort stop before making our way to Narrandera for overnight.  Newell Motor Inn

 

Day 2.  Narrandera—Mildura        (BD)

Today we travel the Sturt Highway from Narrandera to Mildura.  Hay will be our morning tea stop before crossing the Hay Plains to  Balranald on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. Travel via Robinvale to Mildura with time to explore this port town on the Murray River.   Boulevard Motor Inn

 

Day  3.  Mildura—Adelaide            (BD)

View Loch 11 and the foreshore of the Murray River before departing Mildura.  Crossing the border into South Australia we visit the township of Renmark, a town which is part of the oldest irrigation area in Australia. This afternoon we follow the course of the Murray through Berri, Swan Reach and Murray Bridge and on into  Adelaide for our 5 night stay.  Adelaide Inn

Day 4.  Hills & Hahndorf          (BLD)      

The beautiful Adelaide Hills are calling today with its many picturesque towns. Our first stop is the Big Rocking Horse and Wooden Toy Factory in Gumeracha. The National Motor Museum in Birdwood houses  Australia’s largest collection of vehicles view over 300 vintage and classic cars, motorcycles, trucks and fire engines. The German Village of Hahndorf will be our next stop with time for you to enjoy lunch and visit some of the unique boutiques in town. “The Cedars” is the residence of artist Sir Hans  Heysen, be guided through the studio, residence and extensive gardens on the property.

 

Day 5.  City Sights & Cruise    (BLD)

Adelaide, the city of churches, with tree lined boulevards and magnificent      colonial buildings. We explore the city by coach before travelling to Carrick Hill, Australia’s most intact twentieth-century heritage house museum and garden. Aspects of its privately-collected French, British and Australian fine and decorative arts collection are of an international standard, including masterpieces of British modernism and fine examples of seventeenth-century furniture and house fittings. The garden, grounds, house and collections are all integral to the definition of Carrick Hill.  We then make our way to Port   Adelaide to board the Dolphin Explorer for a luncheon cruise along the Port River.  Enjoy free time after our cruise  to explore the many attractions the city has to offer. 

 

Day 6.  Barossa Valley        (BLD)

This morning we travel to one of the world’s greatest wine producing  regions. The Barossa is best known for its shiraz, semillion and chardonnay varieties and today we will enjoy a wine tasting and a delicious lunch at a vineyard. Visit Whispering Wall, the huge curved retaining wall for the Barossa Reservoir. The wall is about 140 meters long and has unique acoustic effects that allow sound to travel long distances - if you speak in a normal voice at one end, you can be heard perfectly clearly at the other end.

 

Day 7.  Kapunda                        (BD)

Visit  Kapunda the historic copper mining town famous as the home and base of the 'cattle king', Sir  Sidney Kidman.  We take time to visit the museum in town.  On our return to Adelaide we will visit the historic town of Gawler.

 

Day 8.  Adelaide—Broken Hill        (BD)

Farewell to Adelaide and make our to   Broken Hill with a stop in the beautiful old town of Burra. Travelling the Barrier Hwy we cross the border in Cockburn and arrive in Broken Hill for overnight.   Silver Haven Motor Inn

 

Day 9.  Broken Hill—Nyngan          (BD)

A travelling day today making our way to Wilcannia, a historic town with many grand buildings.  Visit Cobar, a thriving mining town and pastoral  area. Nyngan is our overnight  destination.

 

Day 10.  Nyngan—Home                (B)
